w/Ogre & Taming The Shrew

WCYY-FM was live at the Alehouse that night, giving away tickets and other freebies for the upcoming Jagermeister Tour (and free Jager shots). This may account for the joint being so crowded so early in the evening, and the unfamiliarity of some of the faces – just not the usual crowd, so it was a big opportunity for us to play to new sets of ears. Taming the Shrew, while not exactly slouches the last time we played with them, have gone in a more adventurous/less commercial direction and really shined. Ogre was thunderous, dark, and so 70’s doom. In their world, The Clash never happened, and “Flesh Feast” did prove to be quite the epic. It was quite late by the time we went on, but the place was still quite packed. There were constant chants of “Art! Art Art!, so obviously our new drummer Art went over big with the audience, which included members of Big Coffin Hunters, The Horror, 13 Winters and Sinferno. He was really great, truth be told – an excellent addition to the group, and we’re looking forward to years of working with him. The only downside of the evening was that during the last song I broke a string, thus ending my 8-year streak of intact strings. I guess all good things must come to an end.
