w/Confusatron & Vertigod
Sometimes I wonder if promoters listen to even one song on our demo. Judging by who we share bills with, the answer might be no. I can see a bit of common ground with Confusatron: both they and BBA have some new-wave quirkyness and some cross-fanbase appeal. But Vertigod? Portland’s answer to Dillenger Escape Plan? Maybe it’s our name – a lot of people assume we’re some extremely heavy black-metal band, like Immortal or Darkthrone, but I digress. Despite the crowd eating it up. I don’t think it was one of our best nights. Some members showed up late and in a huff, which is not condusive to a smooth, well-paced set, and on top of that as soon we finished Vertigod and their crowd were barreling down on us like a fully loaded semi, so we had to skedaddle out of their way. Once they cranked up, the club was in total chaos and Jesus Christ was Vertigod loud! We quickly repaired to the sidewalk outside the club to hang out with other scenesters, with plans to re-enter to catch Confusatron, but after seeing the crowd Vertigod brought by, decided it was time to head home.
